Back To The Roots
We are more than happy to announce that the international youth exchange „ Back to the roots” will be carried out from 31st May 2013 until 9th June 2013 in Bad Aussee, Austria.
The youth exchange is designed together with partners from Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary and all together will involve 28 people with and without disabilities (mostly aged 17 – 30).
The project aims to discover our different heritage and foundations of culture via using different non-formal learning activities in order to understand better different approaches to it and preserve them. On the one hand the youth exchange will focus on the usual roots – the environment we are living in. We will refresh our knowledge about the nature we are surrounded by. We will do this with all our senses. Moreover we will make various things from what nature has to offer (for instance food, tents, jewellery). By doing these activities we keep the importance of sustainability in our minds. On the other hand “Back to the roots” refers to our cultural roots. We will tell legends and stories our parents and grandparents told us. We will learn traditional dances, music and games from all our countries trying to find similarities and differences, searching our heritage.
